Dickerson L. S. Wells, in whom God has placed all five gifts as recorded in Ephesians 4:11, “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers” and without question, Pastor Wells has used these gifts to equip the Saints for ministry and to edify the body of Christ.
From early childhood, Pastor Wells has had a peculiar mark of God upon his life and destined for greatness. He has ministered the Word across North America as well as the continents of Africa, Asia, and Europe.
Though Pastor Wells continues to travel extensively ministering on a national and international scale, his first devotion is to his wife, Valesa and their four children: sons Dickerson II and Chandler and daughters ZaQuita and Chantelle.
Pastor Wells is a product of the Chicago Public and Memphis City School Systems, and during his high school years coupled his standard curriculum with courses at the Charles Harrison Mason System of Bible Colleges. A former Memphis City School’s educator, Pastor Wells received a Bachelor of Arts in English from LeMoyne-Owen College and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Memphis, Masters in Christian Ministry from the Memphis Theological Seminary and is scheduled to complete his DMin May 2023.
He serves as Pastor of Bethel Church Of God In Christ One Church In Two Locations Memphis and Munford Tennessee and serves as the founding pastor of King Of Glory Church in Rossville, TN
Pastor Wells began his public ministry in 1976 and became affectionately known as “the little boy preacher” With deep roots in the church, he showed great promise of a future in church leadership and the arts of worship, and began to learn, with intimate detail, the art and discipline of church building, administration, and ministry.
Christened as a child by the late Presiding Bishop Louis Henry Ford in Chicago, Illinois Wells was ordained as a teenager at the hand of the late Presiding Bishop J. O. Patterson, Sr., the youngest ever to receive ordination in the State of Tennessee.
Wells’ acts of servitude would open many doors for Church service including appointments as Chief Operating Officer Headquarters Operations; Four term elected member National Board of Trustees serving three terms as Secretary; International Holy Convocation Coordinator; Superintendent of National Properties; Director, Saints Academy Operations; Scribe, National Adjutancy; Administrative Assistant to the Bishop; Regional Superintendent; District Superintendent; Jurisdictional YPWW Department President; Jurisdictional Evangelist Department President; and, Chairman of Jurisdictional AIM Convention.
In November 2015, during the 108th Holy Convocation, Dickerson Wells was inducted into the College of Bishops and Consecrated as Bishops by Presiding Bishop Charles E.
Blake, along with members of the General Board, serving Tennessee Eastern First Jurisdiction Church Of God In Christ as Auxiliary Bishop.
In 2021 Bishop Wells was appointed by Presiding Bishop J. Drew Sheard to serve the Church Of God In Christ as Adjutant General. This servant ministry of the church is an extension pf the Presiding Bishop’s Office and is responsible for matters of service, protocol, or and ceremonial worship celebrations.
Bishop Wells serves his community continues to serve his community in various capacities including: President and CEO, LINKS to Success; Counseling Staff, Second Presbyterian Church; Member, Methodist Hospital Church Congregational Healthcare Network; Member, Good Samaritan Network; Member, Frayser Interfaith Association; St. Jude Children’s Hospital Community Partner; The Ronald McDonald House Community Partner; Porter-Leath Children’s Center Community Partner; Neighborhood Christian Center Community, Shelby Residential Vocational Services; and South Tipton County Ministers Association.
